Atiku Finally Gets US Visa, Leaves Nigeria

Did Atiku get his visa application accepted?

Atiku Abubakar got his Visa just before the 2019 elections begin. After which he left Nigeria for the UK and will subsequently move on to visit the US, According to Cable.

And they moved further on to say that Former President Olusegun Obasanjo smoothened Atiku’s effort towards getting the Visa.

What is the relationship between Atiku And Obasanjo?

Atiku and Obasanjo have had issues during their tenure, this resulted to the former president to utter some character damaging words against Atiku.

Nonetheless, they are now teammates and are helping each other get to places.

Why is Atiku seeking the Visa to the US?

No one can say for sure, but what we know is that he has not been there since 2005.

We must also take note that he may be seeking asylum because he is at the centre of a controversy.

He might be prosecuted or arrested and hence he should have a place to go to if that happens.

The opponents of Atiku Abubakar have discredited him, but he recently challenged present President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to a presidential debate.

Is The FBI investigating Atiku?

Yes, they are.

In an FBI investigation, Atiku Abubakar and William Jefferson’s names were mentioned.

They, allegedly, were involved in a bribery of some sort.

Atiku Abubakar received a sum of $500,000 which is meant to be a bribe  for him to grant two american telecommunication firms a contract in Nigeria.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation searched his house that is located in Potomac, Maryland. But did not find the $500,000.

William Jefferson’s involvement.

The FBI agents possess a video tape showing Congressman Jefferson receiving a sum of $100,000.

This, he said, is meant for Atiku. But Atiku denied receiving any bribe from William Jefferson.

Atiku says he is innocent but this just served to enrage the controversy.

Dele momodu in an interview supported atikus claim and stated that he was not in the US at the time the said bribery happened.
